Yaqeen beats Sabr; GM Arslan Mian’s 3rd straight finals appearance Dec 11, 2019
by RC Mian

The 2nd leg of the Medina divison's semi-finals was at 9pm. The game started as you would expect, both teams trading blows back and forth, but no one could get the edge over the other. First period closed score still 0-0. Yaqeen gets a powerplay early in the second half, and capitalized on it within 10 seconds. One of the strangest goals ever, a failed clearing attempt by Sabr ricocheted off of Arssal's leg and found the back of the net. Omar Hussain was the only one celebrating on the floor as others didn't know what just happened. This one goal was all Yaqeen needed to take control of this game as they piled on two more. Sabr did put Yaqeen on it's heels as an endgame serge seen Fahad Panchbaya find the back of the net. However it wasn't enough as Yaqeen took this one 4-1. Two player's that impressed me this season on Sabr were Fahad Panchbaya and goalie Mohammad Khandawala, the two have made tremendous strides in their games and it showed as they gave Yaqeen many problems. On to the finals, Yaqeen is hungry.
