Taqwa finally gets its first Win of the season Oct 28, 2019
by The H Report

Taqwa vs Ridha saw two teams slowly seeing their playoff chances fade away, face off to renew hopes. The pace of game already felt like it was going to be different as Ridha saw their GM, Farooq Sani, start as a 1st line center and Naeem Ackter play defense. The question of what direction this game was going to go was short lived with Taqwa opening the scoring less than 2 minute into the game with a goal by Ali Wadee and assisted by Zafir Rashid and Abdullah Patel. Ali Wadee was not done yet, as 2 minutes after the first goal, he nets his second with goalie Raza Butt picking up the assist. Taqwa was coming out swinging, forcing Ridha to take a timeout to regroup and reorganize their strategy. The timeout pays off as just past the half of the first period, Arif Bijabhai scores a beauty with an assist from Talib Contractor and Farooq Sani. Before the first period was over, Kashif Taqiuddin ties the game with Mohsin Mehboob working hard for the lone assist With the game tied 2-2 heading into the second, both teams look to lock up defensively, and ensured they cleaned up the game. The penalty box was completely empty for the entire game as both teams made sure to stay out of the box and as we headed into the final minutes of the game thinking it would end in a draw, Hannan Ghafoor was able to ricochet a high ball straight past goalie Mobin. “It was like something out of a Houdini magic show” one of the Taqwa player was heard muttering at Hannan’s eye hand coordination. Abdullah Patel picked up his second assist and Ahmar Wasif his first assist of the game. Taqwa’s change in their offensive line up paid well to capture that 1 goal lead. The game officially closed off with an empty netter that saw Ali Wadee capture his 3rd point of the night and Rizwan his 1st point Overall, a sound performance from both teams ; although they ended with a loss, Ridha was able to clean up their game and managed to play one of their best games. Both teams looked confident in their game, but now they will have to bring that confidence against the rest of the league as both teams still sit at the bottom of the league. Taqwa will hope to carry this momentum against Ihsan next week while Ridha will be in their last cross division game, hoping to snatch a point to keep on pace with Ihsan
