Yaqeen dominates but Sabr steals a win Aug 6, 2019
by Samad Hamidi

Sabr and Yaqeen faced off in the second game of the most humid evenings I-slam had ever faced. Both teams seem to be missing key personnel due to long weekend on the horizon. Both teams paced well and started by using their Defencemen to shoot through screens but to no luck. Ahmed Mobin was rock solid but had some goal post luck which he wouldn’t mind on a hot night like this. Both teams playing short on D weren’t over committing and knew that one or two goals in this game would result in the inevitable win.

Second half was more or less the same.both goalies were making ecstatic saves to keep their team alive. However, with under half a minute to go, arsalan Mian found Omar Mahmoud who shot through a screen for a shot to be tipped by Farhan panchbhaya for the game winner. Yaqeen had one last play but Farukh shot it wide and the game ended as a victory for Sabr which for the most of the night looked like a draw.

On the positive, Arif Khan looks like he’s 22 again and playing with great speed and momentum.
