Sabr defeat suddenly slumping Haya Aug 2, 2019
by david Ciombar

The first game of the night featured a shorthanded Haya, against Sabr. With their second, third, and fourth round picks absent Haya knew this was going to be a tough game to win and things did not get any easier once the ball dropped.

Sabr jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway into the game with Omar Hussain scoring from the slot. After applying heavy pressure on Haya’s tired defense, he would add another goal before the period would end.

Mehmed briefly left the game after getting hit with the ball in the mouth, he would prove that he was no worse for wear scoring early in the second period. Haya would ruin Sabr’s shut out with a goal from Khizer Lakhanpal. Haya know the need to be better or risk losing their advantage heading into the playoffs.
