Yaqeen breaks out late for a 3-0 win over Emaan Oct 2, 2018
by Fahad Mohammad

The second game of the night featured a rematch between Yaqeen and Emaan from week #1;  a pivotal game for both teams as Emaan was looking for their first win of this young season while Yaqeen was looking to pull away as leaders of the Medina division.

The game started strong as the first couple of shifts were dominated by Yaqeen's top two lines.  They had plenty of zone time as they moved the ball around well and managed to get a number of quality chances on Yasir Hussain who was particularly strong in net for his team in this game.  With Yasir doing his part, Emaan went on the attack and had quality chances of their own but were unable to get anything past Fahad Mohammad.

Both teams traded chances in the first period as the skilled players of Yaqeen had numerous in close chances on Yasir and Emaan's big guns we're blasting shots on Fahad but neither goalie budged and kept this back and forth game tied at 0-0.

It was in the second period that we had the games first goal; a Slapper from the blue line by Yaqeen's Fuzail Thakur  was tipped in by rookie Ahsan Wasif for a 1-0 lead.  A few minutes later, Maaz Haq won an offensive zone face-off right onto Amir Multani's stick who one-timed it from the top of the circle past the goalie to give Yaqeen a 2-0 lead.

Emaan did all they could do to get on the board and climb back into this game.  They had lots of good looks from the point and their forwards did a good job of screening the goalie but it was not meant to be as Fahad was able to make some saves while other quality chances blew just wide of the net.

A strong play to steal the ball by Maaz Haq late in the game led to a 2 on 1 break for Yaqeen while Emaan had their goalie pulled.  He passed it over to Amir Multani  who buried it into the open net for his 2nd goal of the game for a 3-0 lead and the eventual final score.
