Haya wins a close one over Sabr Feb 6, 2018
by Samad Hamidi

Waqar Khan and his boys came to the game thinking this game was going to be a walk in the park only to find themselves caught flat footed against a quick and motivated team who not only beat them but also executed a well thought out strategy. This was possibly a boring game from a viewer's perspective with the first period ending nil nil with both teams waiting on neutral zone turnovers . Sabr played more minutes killing penalties resulting from unwanted penalties and unorganized line changes.

In the second period, Haya sensed if they could get one goal it would probably be the eventual game winner. With more penalty trouble, and this time their leader Yusuf Sowdagar in the box for interference, Haya went for the kill catching Sabrs non penalty kill unit on a penalty kill. Farooq Sani executed a beautiful pass to an open Humza Ali on the right slot for an easy tap in and that turned out to be the eventual game winner.  Lessons learnt: don’t take penalties.
