Sabr shuts out Haya to finish dominant regular season Dec 3, 2017
by Basit Sheikh

This game saw sabr play against the only team they haven't shut out. The first meeting between the two titans was hyped up with haya taking the W. This match didn't have the same hype but did have playoff standing implications. Sabr had clinched first place but still was looking to make a statement.  The seriosuness of this game wasnt lost on mister "two goals", with pregame preparations at the sauna and steam room.
Sabr didn't have their most dominant game, special teams find ways to win, and it came down to Sabr's special teams The first half Sabr took an early slashing penalty. Sabr was tested early, and stood tall against Haya fire power, killing off the penalty. It was a back and forth tilt, until Haya got a tripping call putting sabr on the Power play. Konain came up big making big save after big save. Sabr stayed persistent and patient. Getting shots on net and Azim was infront of the net to bury a Power play goal. Shortly after Sabr was sent right back to the power play, a sinker from Amir found its way to the back of the net putting sabr up 2-0. That was the score going into half. Aazar got a short handed goal in the second half putting sabr up 3-0. Haya had there opportunities pinning sabr in their own zone for 4 minutes controlling play but unfortunately for Haya they were unable to finish.
Sabr ends the season with 16 pts and has beaten every team at least once. Fahad Mohammad only allowed 6 goals against in 10 games and has at least one shutout on every team.
