| Kawthar keeps game close but Takathur pulls out the win |

Both teams entered this game with identical records at 1 win and 4 losses and this game would decide playoff seeding. That being said, Kawthar was in for a tough day as scorer Adeel Sahibzada was unavailable as were guards Mudasir Marfatia and Mohammed Ali Marfatia.
The first half started slowly for both teams as neither squad could get their shot to fall consistently. After 20 minutes Takathur was leading by a 14-11 score and were led by Farooq Yahya with 10 points while Kawthar was led by Martin Konecny with 5 points.
The second half saw the teams find an offensive groove as shots began to fall more frequently. Takathur began to build a lead as Yahya started to take control offensively. Konecny tried to respond and was able to keep his team in it but defensive breakdowns allowed Takathur to get some easy baskets late and escape with the win. Yahya led the way with 26 points and 8 rebounds for Takathur while Kawthar was led by Konecny with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals.
Both teams are now done for the season and await the results from the final week to determine their playoff seeding. |
