Haya dominates Shukr but only gets a tie Nov 15, 2018

The third game of the night promised a lot of goals and good playmaking and if anything we witnessed lots of good play making but not enough goals. Haya were without their premier Defenceman Salman Khalid while Shukr were playing without their elite forward Sufyan Kazi. In the previous game, Haya realized what a big loss Sufyan Sheikh was as their lack of center depth create opportunities for other teams. On the other hand, Shukr with their new reinforcement Junaid Alvi were looking to go on the attack first. The first five minutes belonged to Shukr as they applied constant speed and didn’t allow the Haya forwards to settle down. As the period went on, Haya’s defence stabilized and allowed for a smooth transition to their forwards and before you knew it, Haya scored from their new forward Umair Awan who obliterated a shot coming off the bench into a small hole left open by Zaid Majoo. Haya weren’t too lucky as they hit a goal post in the period as well.

The second period was all Haya. There was chance after chance but Zaid Majoo held the fort down for Shukr. It was worth noting that Shukr’s Defence did a remarkable job and it was Shukrs forwards that were invisible in the second period. On the other hand., despite a dominating period, Haya were caught trying to look too cute and a floating shot by Saqib Sheikh fooled everyone including Yusuf Kapoor who had been lights out the whole season. The game was a good learning curve for both teams and both teams need to do some homework to improve their playoff chances. After nine games , Haya teams undefeated while Shukr still needs to lock a playoff spot.
